Vincent joined EFRAG in March 2018 and is a Director in the Financial Reporting pillar where he leads several EFRAG proactive research and IASB workplan projects. In 2018-21, he also supported the European Lab’s first two projects compiling good reporting practices. Prior to joining EFRAG, he served as a Director, Financial Reporting Policy at CFA Institute (approximately 10 years in London and a year in Brussels) and was responsible for representing investor views on IFRS, US GAAP, and other corporate reporting developments. In this role, he served on the IFRS advisory council, IASB CMAC, EFRAG user panel, ESMA consultative working group to CRC, and FSB-enhanced disclosure task force. He oversaw comment letter responses to multiple IASB and FASB projects and authored thought leadership and educational-oriented publications on different topics (revenue recognition, Non-GAAP financial measures, risk reporting, other comprehensive income).
Prior to his experience at CFA Institute, he had worked as an investment analyst at a London based credit hedge fund, as a management consultant at Accenture, South Africa and auditor at KPMG, Johannesburg. He holds a doctorate with a thesis on the effect of derivative accounting requirements on earnings management from Cranfield University in the UK and Masters in Finance from London Business School. He is a CFA charter-holder, CPA and IFRS Foundation (SASB)-fundamentals of sustainability accounting credential holder.
