RECORDINGS NOW AVAILABLE | European Lab online outreach events 13 to 22 January – Preparatory work on EU non-financial reporting standards

Between 13 and 22 January 2021, the Project Task Force on preparatory work for the elaboration of possible EU non-financial reporting standards (PTF-NFRS) of the European Lab @EFRAG held seven joint online outreach events. The objective of these events was to gather stakeholders’ views from different countries on the tentative proposals of the PTF-NFRS to the European Commission. The events' recordings are now available.

In June 2020, the European Commission issued a request for technical advice mandating EFRAG to undertake preparatory work for the elaboration of possible EU non-financial reporting standards in a revised Non-Financial Reporting Directive. The preparatory work is carried out by a multi-stakeholder project task force, the PTF-NFRS, within the European Lab @EFRAG.

Between 13 and 22 January 2021, the PTF-NFRS held seven joint outreach events, in the form of public online webinars. The objective of the outreach events was to gather views from European stakeholders on the tentative proposals of the PTF-NFRS to the European Commission.

An outreach document presenting the approach and possible orientations emerging from the PTF-NFRS’s ongoing work was published on 11 January 2021. The outreach document served as a basis for the roundtable discussions at the events, that involved representatives from a wide range of stakeholder groups including the private and public sector, SMEs and civil society from across Europe.

Five of the outreach events had a specific country/region focus (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Nordic countries), with a sixth event focused on obtaining input from European organisations as well as countries other than those where country/region specific webinars took place. A seventh event focused specifically on financial institutions. Some of the events were held in the national languages. The overall number of registrations for the events was around 4 100 and event participants came up to almost 3 000.

Event participants contributed to the discussions through audience polling questions and the submission of written questions and comments.
