EFRAG’s call for candidates for its Sustainability Reporting Board

On 21 April 2021, the European Commission (EC) adopted a legislative proposal for a Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) which, if approved, will entrust, to EFRAG, the role of technical advisor to the EC to develop draft European Reporting Sustainability Standards and to conduct impact analyses. 

At the EFRAG General Assembly held on 21 January 2022, the revised EFRAG Statutes and Internal Rules were approved to include a sustainability reporting pillar alongside the existing financial reporting pillar, mirroring its governance. 

The newly-formed EFRAG Administrative Board is launching a call for candidates for the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board which will be responsible for all sustainability reporting positions of EFRAG including technical advice to the EC on draft EU Sustainability Reporting Standards and amendments to Standards. 

Only EFRAG Member Organisations that contribute to the funding of the EFRAG sustainability reporting pillar (hereafter 'the 'Nominating Organisations') can nominate candidates for the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board. Individuals interested in joining the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board should, therefore, contact the EFRAG Member Nominating Organisations that represents their interests.

Applications, setting out the name and CV of the proposed candidate, should be sent by the Nominating Organisations to nominations@efrag.org no later than 10 February 2022. 

Candidates may be requested to attend an interview with a delegation of the EFRAG Administrative Board Nominating Committee as part of the selection process. These interviews will take place online in the middle of February 2022.
