On 1 February 2023, the EFRAG Administrative Board appointed Chiara Del Prete as EFRAG SR TEG Chair for a term of three years effective from yesterday. Chiara is a member of the EFRAG management team since April 2019, as EFRAG FR TEG Chair and, since May 2022 she has, in addition, been serving as EFRAG SR TEG Acting Chair. She will now fully devote herself to the Chair role of the EFRAG SR TEG.

EFRAG will soon issue a call for candidates for the new EFRAG FR TEG Chair.

The EFRAG Administrative Board has appointed, yesterday, Chiara Del Prete as EFRAG Sustainability Reporting TEG (EFRAG SR TEG) Chair. Chiara was already serving this role since May 2022 as Acting Chair.

Chiara's role is to lead and manage all EFRAG's sustainability reporting technical activities. The EFRAG SR TEG advises and makes recommendations to the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board (EFRAG SRB), after having given due consideration to all input received through EFRAG's due process. The EFRAG SRB decides on EFRAG's technical positions notably on the technical advice submitted to the European Commission in the form of draft EU Sustainability Reporting Standards (draft ESRS).

Chiara Del Prete continues to chair IFASS (International Forum of Accounting Standard Setters) which covers both financial reporting and sustainability reporting.

She declared: "I am honoured by this appointment and to have the opportunity to play this important role in building the future sustainability reporting in Europe. I am grateful to my colleagues, to EFRAG present and past EFRAG FR TEG and EFRAG FRB members for the hard work done and the results collectively achieved during my mandate as EFRAG FR TEG in the past four years. I will now focus on sustainability reporting. I am aware of the operational and conceptual challenges posed by the role attributed by the CSRD to EFRAG and I confirm my commitment to continue to serve the multistakeholder perspective peculiar to EFRAG, to produce high quality work and, ultimately, to contribute to the strengthening of EFRAG's role and to the success of the new ESRS."

Patrick de Cambourg, EFRAG SRB Chair, stated "I am delighted to continue working with Chiara on the draft ESRS. Together, and with all EFRAG SRB members efficiently advised by EFRAG SR TEG, we have already provided a tremendous work delivering the first set of draft standards and I look forward to continuing this collaboration to create a strong corporate reporting solution and contribute to a sustainable European economy through enhanced transparency."

Hans Buysse, EFRAG Administrative Board President, expressed: "Chiara has demonstrated her capabilities in delivering high-quality work under a tight timeframe as EFRAG SR TEG Acting Chair. We are looking forward to continuing working with Chiara in the sustainability reporting field and the connectivity topics.  As Chair of IFASS she will continue to be involved in the entire corporate reporting field and cooperate with all standard setters in the world. Chiara will continue in contributing to EFRAG accomplishing its mission to be the voice of Europe in shaping corporate reporting."

The position of EFRAG FR TEG Chair is now open as Chiara resigned from this function concurrently. The call for candidates for the new EFRAG FR TEG Chair will be issued in the coming days.
