Frank Thinggaard

​Frank Thinggaard is Professor of financial accounting at Aarhus University, Department of Economics and Business Economics, Denmark.

He has a PhD degree in financial accounting (1993) and a MSc degree in Business Economics and Auditing (1987) from the Aarhus School of Business, Denmark, and a supplementary journalistic exam from The Danish School of Journalism (1995).

Frank Thinggaard’s research interests are centered around the use and relevance of financial reports, accounting regulation, and subjects related to the audit profession, such as the use of joint audits.

He has taught a variety of accounting courses on e.g. IFRS regulations, Group Accounts, and International Financial Accounting at the Masters and bachelor’s level. He is also an experienced lecturer at the executive education.

Frank Thinggaard is currently a member of the Accounting Council under the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency, and he was formerly a member of the European Accounting Association’s Financial Reporting Standards Committee.
